Does anyone have contacts within the Vancouver film and TV industry? More specifically, people who work on the technical side of the industry, like crew? I've always wanted to do that sort of thing as a living, but I have very little idea about what sort of schooling is required for it, if any. I eventually want to go to the Vancouver Film School and get a degree from there, but to be honest, I don't have the funds for it at the moment. I'll be graduating from a two-year community college by next summer with an Associates of Arts degree, but I want to know if I need more than that to be able to work in the industry. If you could just send them a link to this post, that would be awesome. I can supply my personal e-mail address as well if they ask for it.

Thanks, everyone, for helping out a film geek and stage techie to try and get on the road to live her dreams!

Have decided that universe hates me.  In need of hugs, hot chocolate, and a warm bath. Also, a new job. Hot chocolate, hugs, and bath first.

Started my new job at CityBank on Tuesday. So far, so good. It's a fun job, and surprisingly easy. The people I'm training with are awesome, and really easy to work with. They don't seem to mind that I'm the newbie, and they help when I ask. It's pretty awesome. And the best part? It pays for two-thirds of my college education. How awesomeis that?
